Paula Leardini, from Brazil, chose a to help launch a new career with a global focus. Since graduating from BU, she has gone on to become a Project Manager for a petrochemical consultancy, based in the US.
“The main reason for undertaking an International Management degree was to gain knowledge of the topic, as well as to experience studying in an international environment. I chose BU due to the location and atmosphere of the town, the reputation of the university and the support it offers to international students.

During her year at BU, Paula got fully involved in university life. She became the student rep for her course and also joined university run international fairs, where students have the chance to share food, music and other cultural experiences.
“I was a member of the BU climbing club and it was a great experience interacting with students from other courses, as well as meeting people from outside BU who used to climb at the same place. Living in Bournemouth was incredible.
"The town is beautiful and it can be both peaceful and vibrant at the same time. It is close to London and easily accessible for other parts of Europe. Therefore, it was easy to adapt to my new life.â€
Following the completion of her Master’s degree, Paula was successful in securing a role with global petrochemical consultancy, Townsend, based in Houston in the USA. The role involves research, management, relationship building and sales.
“Before coming to BU my aspiration was to work for a global company, where I could interact with people and companies from across the world. What I really love about my job now is its global reach and diversity.
"The MSc International Management opened my mind to the relationships and strategies needed for contemporary business. I know that BU was an essential part of the progress I have been able to make in my career.â€
